Football Player's Injuries??

Started by: GOLDEN BEAR (6556)

I have just finished reading an article concerning the huge number of player's that are already on their club's injury table ! It makes very alarming views st's all the club's and shows how many are off sick or injured , my question is i think reasonable can anyone explain why we have so many? After all these guys are treated better that racehorses ,they have the very best in the way of FOOD/ HEALTH/EXERCISE / VERY GOOD LIVING CONDITIONS ,so just why are they being or getting injured so regulary ?
Has any one got a clue please reply .G.B

Perhaps its because clubs now have more players in their squads, longer seasons and more Internationals that even the slightest injury gives a club the excuse of giving all players registered, a chance of playing depending on who they play.

How often do you hear the commentators now say how many changes have been made at each game when in the past, the same team barring a serious injury or suspension was turned out.

Injuries my backside, more like facing a now longer season and avoiding burn out to the best players at a club!

Hi Owd Codger,
I wish to add to your thread in as much i can remember well a time for instance when my father would take me to Central Park to watch WIGAN , he would oft tell me ""You see most of those player's out there lad""" I said yes dad ,well over half of um work down pit ! I said to him your joking his reply was short and succinct An infatic NO! so that also has me pondering about today's sportsmen ,They are all professional's today i believe , so they don't have to worry about putting bread on the table , They are paid handsomely , their health rigime is second to none , as i say it's a far,far cry from those day's of yesteryear . The point i am trying to say to you is irrespective of the huge amount of games played over a season it pails into insignificence compared to those back then . One last thing that is about me,,, I often say quite a LOT IF GOD HAD GIVEN ME A CHANCE OR A GIFT OF WHAT THEY POSSES I WOULD RUN THRO A BLOOMIN BRICK WALL IF I WERE TO WEAR A UNITED OR WIGAN R.L. BADGE thats all!!
